SHACKLETON UPDATE
The project to relocate Shackleton WR963 to the Yorkshire Air Museum continues, with the dismantling of the aircraft reaching its final stage. The first components to travel north will be on their way very soon but this is an ongoing process and will take a number of weeks to complete, with numerous factors to consider at each step, from logistics to weather.
However, this stage will be completed by Christmas and then the painstaking job of reassembling WR963 will start. This is going to take many, many months and will probably run into 2026, but each hurdle we pass is another step towards seeing this incredible aircraft at her new home at the Yorkshire Air Museum.
