Leave a Lasting Legacy
Since the campaign to save former RAF Elvington began in 1983, this Bomber Command station has grown into the much-loved Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Air Forces Memorial. Today, it stands as a place of remembrance—honouring all who served from British airfields during the Second World War—and as a centre for learning that continues to inspire future generations.

An Enduring Legacy
The Yorkshire Air Museum cares for historic wartime buildings and a growing collection that tells the story of aviation in Yorkshire and beyond, including the recreation of a Halifax Mk III bomber flown by many Allied aircrews. Preserving these 80-year-old buildings and safeguarding our collections is an ongoing challenge that relies on continued support.

Become Part of the Story
By leaving a gift in your Will, you can play a vital role in securing the future of the Yorkshire Air Museum. Your legacy will help us protect this unique heritage—supporting conservation, expanding learning opportunities, developing new aircraft hangars, and maintaining peaceful spaces for reflection. A gift of any size can make a lasting difference. In choosing to remember the Museum in your Will, you become part of the story we preserve—helping us to Honour, Educate and Inspire for generations to come.

How can I Gift
You may wish to consider leaving either a pecuniary gift—an exact sum of money specified in your will—or a residuary gift, which is a share of your estate given after all expenses and gifts to family and friends have been settled. Even a small percentage can make a lasting and meaningful difference to the museum’s work in the future.
Thank you for your support.
