Today is the funeral of museum volunteer guide Harry Welch. Sadly, we cannot be there with his family in the current situation. Instead, here are some thoughts from Barbara George, Museum Director, on Harry’s contribution to our museum community.
‘Harry was passionate about aviation and history and absolutely loved the museum. His enthusiasm and great nature made him one of the most fantastic and dedicated Museum Guides you could ever dream of. He had a talent for transmitting his passion to his audience and making everyone feel good about being at the museum.’
‘Always full of ideas and extremely well organised, he was instrumental to setting up the Guides team at the museum. He was also a wonderful person and a trusted friend. His legacy will live on for as long as the museum will exist.’
