The Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Air Forces Memorial celebrates aviation history with a unique collection of aircraft on display at Yorkshire’s best-preserved, original World War Two RAF station site. We tell stories of innovation, ingenuity and courage that give insight into the aircraft and the people who made and flew them to inform and inspire current and future generations.
We are an accredited independent museum established 35 years ago and are governed by a Board of Trustees. The Museum is run and operated by 20 staff and 120 volunteers and welcomes on average 50,000 visitors per year.
The Yorkshire Air Museum is a busy friendly and exciting place to work. Our departments include Visitor Operations, Collections, Aviation Conservation, Events, Catering, Retail, Resources and Volunteering.

After a year of closure of its catering outlet, the Yorkshire Air Museum is looking at reopening a new café with a new service offering, in surroundings which have been revamped through the assistance of NHLF grant aid.

It is an exciting time to join the Yorkshire Air Museum as we have taken the last year to look at how we could improve in all aspects of our museum. The café is one of those areas and we are looking for a team to create and deliver new menu and provide customer service in the re-established Yorkshire Air Museum Café. You will need to work well with others, both in the kitchen and front of house.
We are currently looking for the following roles:
- Supervising Cook
- Kitchen Assistants
We offer a great working environment, with daytime hours (flexibility on start and finish times necessary), five days out of seven per week. You will occasionally need to be available on evenings when we host events that require food from our kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity for hospitality professionals who are looking for a better work/life balance in a wonderful setting, with daytime hours, frequent weekends off and free parking.
