In these unprecedented times, many people across the world are facing unforseen hardship. Of course, the Museum is no different. We have been truly moved by everyone who has contacted us asking how they may help, so the following are ways that you can help towards the continued existence of the Museum.
The Museum is entirely funded by the revenue we generate from our visitors and our events and unlike many large museums, receives no direct funding from Government. Right now, as we are unable to open, we have no income.
Sadly, there are a great many people in the same position, with jobs at risk, families to provide for, loved ones to care for and bills to pay. We are not unique.
Six Ways You Can Support the Museum
If you are facing hardship yourself, please take care of those closest to you first.
However, if you are in a position to be able to donate towards our continued existence, here’s how to help.
1.Make a donation online
Via our friends at Charity Checkout, you can quickly give a donation towards the Museum running costs, simply click the button above. You can decide the size of your donation and whether it is a one-off contribution or a regular amount.
2. Sign up for Easy Fundraising App

You can either download the app to your mobile device or shop online on your computer. Once you’ve registered and chosen the Museum, each time you shop at one of the large organisations listed, we receive a small donation from them, Best of all, it doesn’t cost you anything.
3. Purchase your copy of Ferry Pilots Notes
Many of the gifts in our online store cannot be fulfilled right now. However, we can still send you a copy of The Ferry Pilots Notes. This book is unique to the Museum and is an accurate reproduction of the original wartime notes issued to the brave ATA ferry pilots who delivered aircraft to aerodromes across the UK.
It’s a wonderful book to own and you know that you are helping to support the Museum through these difficult times. We have them in stock and can ship worldwide.
4. Sponsor an Aircraft
There are currently three aircraft that museum supporters are able to sponsor. You’re sure to have a favourite amongst these three iconic aircraft, so why not support them with a sponsorship package? Click the link on each aircraft for more details.

5. Dedicate a Memorial Brick
Anyone who has visited the Museum’s Canadian Hangar will have seen the striking walls of memorial bricks lining each side of the hangar. While the memorial bricks are nearly all reserved now, we still have a few remaining. For £25, you can purchase a brick and have it inscribed with your own name or dedicated to a loved one.

6. Connect to Amazon Smile and link the Museum
If you regularly shop on Amazon, then connect to Amazon Smile. This charitable arm of Amazon allows you to nominate an organisation to receive a small commission every time you shop. This contribution comes directly from Amazon and doesn’t cost you anything.
You can connect to Amazon Smile here, then simply search for Yorkshire Air Museum and choose us as your nominated beneficiary.
If you can use any of the links above, it will be a great help to us. Did you know that The Yorkshire Air Museum is almost entirely funded by you? The support you give via your entry ticket, the food you purchase in our restaurant and items you buy in our shop all help to keep the Museum running all year round.
Whilst we have been fortunate to be awarded support from Heritage Lottery Fund in 2020, we receive no permanent Government funding and survive through the support of our visitors.
