Our 2018 Spring Thunder Days begin with a celebration of the first flight of the Blackburn Buccaneer, just a few miles away from the Museum at Brough. The 30th of April 1958 was the first flight of the Buccaneer which went on to serve in both the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. The annual gathering to remember the sacrifice of the British and Free French aircrews that served at Elvington during World War Two, together with those that have served to deliver the freedom we enjoy today. The services take place from 11am at the French Air Force Memorial in Elvington Village followed by the Service of Remembrance at the Station Chapel of The Allied Air Forces Memorial, Yorkshire Air Museum at 13.30pm.
