“Dambusters” Lancaster B1. After the famous mission by 617 Squadron, RAF to destroy the dams in the Ruhr Valley in 1943 the Lancaster B1 was the only allied aircraft capable of carrying the huge 22,000lb “Grand Slam” and 12,500lb “Tallboy” earthquake bombs.
This 1:144 scale model AVRO Lancaster B1 Special accurately represents the type of aircraft used to destroy the “Tirpitz” battleship and other major strategic sites. Created from die cast metal and plastic, the model can be mounted on the enclosed plinth or displayed free standing and makes a great addition to any enthusiast of Allied air power of the period.
