The new X44 bus service that now for the first time links the Museum with York Rail Station as well as the City Centre at Merchantgate is already proving a hit with visitors.
The daily new service, operated by York Pullman, is being trialled for this peak summer season and will run until September 4th, although we are hoping that sufficient demand will be created to make it a viable long-term service. It currently runs alongside the Village Link N0.36 service, again operated by York Pullman, so, for the first time in our long history,we can say that we are pretty well served by public transport!!
So, for those of you who live further afield and have limited access to transport, you now have no excuse to delay making that visit that you always promised yourself!
It is worth noting that, as the services do run on weekends as well, it will be possible to visit the Model Air Show taking place on the weekend of 13th / 14th August, which promises to be a spectacular event.
Details of the services available can be found on the website under the planning your visit section, or look at the York Pullman website at www.yorkpullmanbus.co.uk, where there is a dedicated section for the Yorkshire Air Museum / York Maze and also on the regular services section, for the Village Link service details.
