The time is fast approaching for another of our regular “anti-det” runs of our iconic Nimrod MR2 ‘spy plane’ , which will take place this Sunday, 4th March. These fire ups are an essential part of the aircraft’s regular maintenance, to keep it in tip top running condition.
See the crew in action as they give the engines a good spin and check all the systems after the winter rest. The Fire team will also be on hand with their kit and equipment, keeping a close watch on proceedings.
Kids will be in awe standing in close proximity to a huge 38 tonne airport fire engine, plus the mighty Nimrod itself, so a great excuse to head off for a great day out with us!
Before the excitement begins, enjoy a fascinating exploration of our many exhibits and perhaps partake of a hearty Sunday roast in our ‘NAAFI’ Restaurant.
