This short picture-show gives a brief and emotional glimpse into the wide range of activities we undertake each year, in particular the effect which our Memorial provokes within everyone who visits this unique and atmospheric place.
The Allied Air Forces Memorial Day has become internationally recognised as an occasion to remember men and women of all nations who served their countries in the global conflicts of the past. The entire air museum is a living memorial to the members of the Allied Air Forces.
The events we hold both at Elvington and across UK and France tell the stories of the achievements and sacrifice of aviation pioneers and our allied air forces from the earliest times up to the present day. We are grateful to our devoted team of 150 staff and volunteers plus the many senior diplomats, politicians, celebrities and supporters from across the worl, who help us to inspire and educate others both young and old. This is a testament to them.
