So far, so good for the first day of the giant model airshow! The weather has held fine and there have been some truly stunning displays of model flying taking place. At some points, there have been a dozen or more models in the air at one time, of a variety of sizes, including a large Lancaster, a Halifax and alsorts!
The Handley Page Victor and the Vulcan proved to be big hits with the crowd, and one could almost beleive that it was the real thing sweeping magnificently across the skies. As we speak, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire is heading to us for what will be a spectacular ‘live’ flypast. And on that note, it seems that show organisers have just been informed by the BBMF that the Lancaster has been scheduled to appear tomorrow for the final day of the event. So, if you wwere hesitating, there is now no excuse not to come along and enjoy the show.
The Museum’s ‘live’ Nimrod will also be conducting its scheduled engine run tomorrow as well, so a fantastic day in store.
