On Sunday 12th August, the Museum’s ‘live’ Blackburn Buccaneer, XN 974, will be undergoing an engine test. The twin Rolls Royce Spey engines will be powered up, under the watchful eye of our Fire Team.
This will provide a little extra for our visitors to enjoy, in addition also to the displays that will be seen from the Giant Model Air Show taking place on the airfield.
This is a systems check ahead of the forthcoming Thunder Day, taking place on Sunday 2nd September, where the Buccaneer will be joined by the Nimrod MR2 XV250 and the propeller aircraft, the De Havilland Devon twin prop and the WWI SE5a bi-plane. More information on this event to follow!
