The Museum is becoming increasingly popular as a filming location for various TV series. It seems that the combination of unique exhibits with lots of interesting facts and the diverse nature of the Museum grounds attracted teams as we can always find a new way to tell a story.
BBC’s Antiques Road Trip were with us in late 2017 to film a Yorkshire based episode with the emphasis on Sir George Cayley and his invention, The Cayley Glider.
While setting up cameras and amid all the usual ‘standing around’ that always seems to go with filming, it quickly became apparent that Paul is not only a skilled TV presenter and professional auctioneer, but also a huge fan of aviation and history.
Our team enjoyed chatting to him about various aviation subjects and when the time came to roll the camera, like many professional presenters, he was straight into TV mode for the sequences.
You can see the 5 minute sequence that was aired on TV here.
Like many of these popular daytime TV productions, it will surely be aired again quite regularly over the coming years and often overseas too, so watch out for it on your favourite channels.
