An annual nostalgic gathering of amazing pre 1931 vintage motorcycles at the Museum. The Golden Era Run is organised by the Vintage Motor Cycle Club and each year moire than 100 motorcycles, many more than 100 years old, depart from the Museum for a gentle adventure around the Yorkshire Wolds.
This year, the approximate schedule will be as follows:
By 10;00am, most of the motorcycles will have gathered in the Museum grounds. From 10:30 am onwards the riders will depart from the Museum into the Yorkshire countryside.
At 11:00am, our vintage biplanes will be running for our visitors to enjoy, so expect the aroma of mineral engine oil to be around the Museum as the SE5a and Eastchurch Kitten come to life.
12:00 Lunchtime in the NAAFI restaurant. Don’t forget to be at the front of the queue for our famous Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding.
13:45 After lunch our biplanes will be running again as an accompaniment to the motorcycles arriving back at the Museum.
14:00 The collection of vintage motorcycles will be on display before their owners depart for home.
