Allied Air Forces Memorial Day
A New Era and a New Mission for the Allied Air Forces Memorial
To Honour, Educate and Inspire
This Sunday is the annual Allied Air Forces Memorial Day. 2020 is to be an exciting year for the Memorial as we embark upon a new mission. As part of this undertaking, we will continue to honour the memories of the Allied Air Forces who flew alongside the Royal Air Force in World War Two.
Representatives from across the Allied Air Forces will be joining us and we would love for you to join us for a Commemorative Service in the afternoon and learn more about the value of alliances and allies and the sacrifice of those who served in World War Two from across the world.
For this special day, admission to the Museum is reduced from the previous £15 event rate to a special rate of only £7 for adults and £4 for children. Holders of ‘annual’ tickets are also welcome to use them to return to the Museum to be with us.
The Museum opens to the public as normal at 10:00am
13:30 – Parade commences with a march towards the Canadian Hangar for Memorial Service
14:00 Please join us inside the hangar for the presentation of the standards and a short memorial service
15:00 – 15:10 Service ends and the congregation moves outside
15:45 – Parade ends with salute and dismiss.
Please Note – as certain areas of the Museum need to be specially configured, the Bomber Command Exhibition and parts of the Memorial Hangar will be unavailable a times throughout the day.
