999 Emergency Day

September 24

Our Pathfinder airport rescue units are fully CAA certified

A great chance to meet emergency services from across the region as we commemorate the hard work of our emergency services. Our own in house fire and rescue team will be providing demonstrations of our huge Pathfinder machines as we celebrate the great work of the emergency services.

In addition to the Museum’s huge Pathfinder tenders, joining us will be organisations from across the entire range of the emergency services including:

  • York Rescue Boat – The team established to provide rescue cover in the River Ouse riverbanks in the City of York
  • Yorkshire Air Ambulance – The people behind Helicopter Heroes on TV
  • RNLI – Providing rescue at sea, meet some of the team.
  • CSI Crime Scene investigators – learn more about forensic science in crime solving
  • Aero Fire and Rescue – Providers of fire cover for aviation and event operations
  • York Fire Brigade – meet some of the team providing firefighting cover for the City of York
  • BRS Recovery – Keeping highways of Yorkshire clear
  • Historic Emergency Vehicles – more than a dozen historic vehicles from the history of emergency services
