Support The Museum

There are many ways you can support the Museum and Memorial and even become actively involved yourself. Below are the main ways you can give your support and areas we need help.

Throughout the Museum site, a limited number of trees or seats are available for dedication. In addition, there are Memorial Walls lining both sides of the Canadian Memorial Hangar, where for just £25, a brick can be purchased and inscribed with your own name or organisation or dedicated to a loved one. Please select the link ‘Memorial Brick Wall’ to download the form to pay by post.  Inscriptions for the Book of Remembrance are a poignant way of remembering somebody. Telephone or write for details

Volunteer Posts Often Available

The Museum and Memorial operates with 130 volunteer staff posts within 9 departments, from Fire Service to Grounds Maintenance and gardening, from Aircraft Engineering to Archives & Collections. Specific skills are not always necessary and the Museum staff enjoy a  rewarding and varied experience with an enjoyable team spirit and friendly atmosphere in this highly creative environment, where “every day is different”.

This is a great opportunity to make new friends, to share common interests and at the same time help this worthwhile cause.

If you feel that this would be of interest to you and are able to give approximately 4 days every month, please contact Ian Richardson, Communications Manager on 01904 608595 or or call into the Office for further details.

The Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Air Forces Memorial is a registered charity with no financial aid from local or national government. We believe that it is important to preserve our aviation heritage in the memory of those who have gone before and we rely on the generosity of our visitors and our many supporters throughout the world to help us to maintain this unique Museum and Memorial for future generations.

A legacy enables you to allocate a sum of money or a gift in your will to be given to a worthy cause. It is an important source of income for charities and in many cases has tax advantages. If you would like to set up a legacy in favour of the Museum and Memorial, please have your solicitor make the necessary amendments to your will.
